Casa Veneta
Chania - Crete

Tucked away in a narrow side street in the old quarter of Chania, Casa Veneta has plenty of olde worlde charm. It is a new, four storey building which we have sympathetically reconstructed from an old Venetian facade. For your convenience we have a television lounge on the ground floor. We have kept the atmosphere of the Grand Venetian period by using stripped polished wood for our interiors, and giving some studios a gallery bedroom. A friendly, most charming base in an excellent location from which to explore this historic and atmospheric town.
We had a big room, partly on two floors with a beautiful small balcony. The hotel owner gave us a warm welcome and some precious tips what to see and where to go.
We have hardly visited such a house, like Casa Veneta...at least not for holyday staying. This house standing next to the western part of the Venetian Wall, pretty close to San Salvatore Bastion...the terrrace's wall of our 3rd floor room(no9) was literally this 16th C. wall.....with sight to the bastion and toward to the sea , pretty amasing. Finding the house and the check -in with the given code was effortless. Our room was spacy enough , a bit older outfit , comfortable however, comfy bed was there and efficient A/C was working. Morningtime you can meet the owner Mr, Stavros at the reception , to check the formalities , and to receive info about the house , the city ....great. Leaving the house you find yourself in the middle of the medieval city ...great again.
Stavro was very welcoming and supportive. Place was clean and comfortable. Very centrally located. Highly recommended.
The location was great, in the most beautiful street in Chania, in my opinion. It was near beaches, shops, restaurants, buses and the harbour with its lovely lighthouse
He is a charming honest person who used to be a physics teacher. We enjoyed spending time with him. I originally contacted with him in 2019 for 2020 summer stay, however, due to the pandemic, I had to cancel. Despite of the fact that the reservation was non-refundable, he returned me the entire cost. This time, finally when we were ready to visit Greece, I had no doubt to took with Casa Veneta! Of course, he remembered me. He recommended us good seafood restaurants where a lot of locals go. We went both and we loved them. We had a huge private balcony with ocean view + a table + chairs! Our large room was equipped with kitchenette including all utensils, cooking equipment, olive oil, plates, glasses, wine openers, etc. We loved our room very much. AC worked very well and shower room size was good. Stavros, thank you very much and we had wonderful time talking with you and staying at Casa Veneta!!!
This was simply an amazing hotel!!! The owner is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, as it is on a side street in the downtown area. We had the room on the very top and had a view on the ocean. The ocean is a 1 min walk away. Anytime I will go to Chania again, I will reside there. 11/10 !!!
Location is amazing. House looks very nice outside and inside the hallway. The owner is local Greek, who was super helpful and extremely kind. He really makes you feel like home and this is exactly what I love when travelling. Not a big investor building a luxurious hotel where you can’t get any tip, but a local families.
The best place to stay in the harbour!Stavros is amazing, relaxed and friendly person, it was an honour to meet him.Great location everything close by yet room was super quiet. Everything you was in your room need and comfy beds!
Great hotel in the heart of Chania’s old town. Clean rooms and great location. Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Amazing, very friendly and helpfull host. We will be back in the future for sure. Highly recommend!
Close to town and only a 29 minute walk to the sandy beach. Stavros was extremely helpful with his local knowledge of where to go, what to see and how to get there
